Mission Statement
Luna Playhouse is a producing playhouse. We offer a dynamic and multifaceted outreach component that draws upon and serves all segments of the larger community. With our diverse productions we are committed to the emphasis of the power of imagination, passion, and collaboration in theatre. This commitment transcends into our community to provide opportunities in discovering historical and diverse cultural dimensions of theatre. Though Luna retains its multicultural and multilingual component, it also requires the highest standard of production quality in theatre.
We will provide quality in genre, style, acting values, theme, and design, to describe theatrical experiences and "story telling."
We will work collaboratively as directors, designers, producers, technicians or actors to meet goals in plays and stage readings from a variety of contemporary, classical and experimental playwrights of many genres.We will communicate creative, design, and directorial choices to ensemble members, using leadership skills, aesthetic judgments, and problem-solving skills in collaboration with the director, designer, or playwright.
We will be open to engage many artistic approaches and collaborators from the community and abroad for new and fresh opportunities in theatrical and related aspects of theatre.
We will be committed to our youth by engaging them to be involved in the creation of theatre and applying their knowledge of their generation to express artistic abilities through process and production participation.
